The participants in COMEBA’s Mediterranean Cup and Training Camp 2019 assembled in Larnaca, Cyprus, to start the events. Everyone was very excited and enthusiastic to take part and looking forward to two great events. The events are designed to promote cooperation and badminton development between countries in the Mediterranean region; they were open to all COMEBA Members.
This year a total of thirty participants from Cyprus, Egypt, Greece and Israel gathered in Larnaca. For the first three days, the participants take part in high intensity training sessions led by world class badminton coach Martijn Van Dooremalen.
In the subsequent three days, the participants compete in both a team tournament as well as in individual Singles and Doubles events, gaining valuable experience by competing against other players from different countries and with different playing styles. The events are also a great way for players and coaches to learn from each other, make new friends and develop their skills.
It is very clear that all the participants are determined to work hard in order to improve their standard of play.
